I think we all understand exactly how you feel.
I'm so glad he came through it ok and I'm sure he's looking forward to coming back home as much as you are getting him back home! Yes! They are just like toddlers, aren't they? Always into something. But that stage does pass.
Enjoy it while you can. Of course, you're still going to have to go home at lunch and schedule your other life around him. After all, he's your new baby!
And I should add that these babies never grow up, either!
