When I was eleven my family and I were driving back from the movies (of course I'll never forget the movie now, 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape'... GREAT movie if you haven't seen it, by the way!) when my dad stopped at a gas station about three blocks from our apartment. My little brother, who was five at the time, climbed into the front seat to sit in my mom's lap while my dad was pumping gas. Normally I wouldn't have said anything (hello, I was eleven) but I got the worst feeling about it, and I told my mom that he should get back into his seat next to me and put his seatbelt back on. Of course she says, "It's fine, we're right down the street from our house." We pulled out of the gas station, and one block before the turn onto our street, a woman in a pickup truck makes a left hand turn and smashes into us (BTW, we didn't have much money at the time and we were in an 1980's two door Datsun). My force of the crash totaled the car, so much impact that my father bent the steering wheel to a 90 degree angle. The police officer said that he had never seen an accident so bad that didn't involve a fatality. We all walked away (minor cuts, bruises, and aches)... especially considering none of us had our seatbelts on. But that gut feeling was there... I knew before it happened. God was looking out for us that night.

Another one I have (sorry so long!) was when I was on vacation in Maui with my parents my senior year. My brother and I had our own room. I woke up in the middle of the night with the worst feeling that there was someone else in our room... staring at us. I had been asleep on my stomach, and sure enough when I turned to look at the foot of my bed, there was a cloaked figure standing there. I'll never forget the feeling of absolute terror, of being so scared that I couldn't make a sound, although my mind was screaming for my mother. All I could do was turn back around, lay my head on my pillow and pray for sleep to come. Eventually I fell back asleep, and of course the next morning nothing was there... but I know something was.
