and he should be eating it all up in one day.. enough said she cause me and him to have a big disagreement today over this.. and so thats why i wanted to ask am i doing the right thing? i did notice he was thining out

Each dog is different. I have some that are fed twice a day and others 3 times a day. But, you have to remember these are toy dogs and have small stomachs.....
Second of all whenever a dog is in a new environment they will not eat sometimes for 24 or 48 hours.......Tell your sister-in-law to butt out.
But, each meal is 1/8 of cup of kibbles, along with steamed chicken.....others have wet food added and others have a bit of cheese....
