I had the same problem, Tiger's coat was covered in knots and mats, so i sat there with a fine tooth comb and brushed them all out. I had to cut a few of them out, the ones that were really matted. It took me about 2 weeks. Doing an hour or two everyday. Now i give him a quick brush every day and the knots havn't come back. I still do not know about when his adult coat is going to come through, but his fur is looking lovely now. And after all that brushing he actually enjoys to be brushed and barks at the brush on the table for me to brush him!!!
