My name is Susan and my furbaby's name is Chloe'. She is at this point 3 months old and weighs approximately 3 lbs. I saw her and fell in love on Dec. 11, 09. I was out shopping one day and passed a guy who was carrying the most precious little thing I had ever seen in my life in a Christmas stocking.... light pink with white trim . I was going to walk past him as I was running late... but felt led to walk back and talk to him. I said "Oh my gosh .. what a precious little thing". We spoke for a few moments and he told me she was for sale. Immediately my mind started racing with a hundred different thoughts running through it. My husband had a cat for 13 years and I took her to the humane society a couple of years ago as she was having bladder control problems. He was devasted. A few months later I was on the internet looking at small puppies (we're condo dwellers) and tried to interest him in buying one. He was NOT interested and said we travel too much and an animal would tie us down (we're snowbirds). I accepted that and never thought much about it again.

A few years ago my husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's and several months later his beloved son committed suicide (wife wanted divorce, job loss etc.) This happened on Dec. 20th... needless to say he was heartbroken and Christmas time has become an unwelcome reminder of that horrific loss. He has handled these heartaches extremely well considering but was having a couple of down days when I had my Divinely timed "encounter".

All these thoughts were racing through my mind and then I asked how much... AAAAHHHHHHH . I took a short video of her to show to my husband to see if we could buy her. The more I thought about it .. I was afraid he would say no and I would never see her again. I decided to make an executive decision and said "I'll take her.. follow me to the bank".

My ex used to have black labs and I had had a couple of Maltese's but I knew absolutely nothing about yorkies!! Hubby was not too thrilled with my "find" that day.... for about the first 30 minutes..... hehehe. I don't have to tell you that we are both gaga over her. She has brought much needed joy and laughter into our lives. I never thought I could have such strong feelings for an "animal". I totally dislike that term when applied to her and never ever use it. I love "furbaby"... it is so very apropo!! At times she is so very cuddly and lovable and at other times we call her our "yorkie terrorist" (still lovable tho).

She was completely trained in a couple of weeks and that is even with my daughter, son-in-law and 3 grandchildren coming to visit over the Christmas holiday (wonderful but rather chaotic... we're in a two bedroom condo here !! Yaaaaaaaaaay.... for the ease in training... we have recently had a little backsliding in that area but I'm sure this will quickly pass.

I do have a question on detangling products but I will post that question separately to spare anyone from having to read this somewhat lengthy post. I am so very very thankful I took a detour that Dec. day from where I was originally headed. She truly was Heaven sent .
I smiled when I read your post .I believe she was sent to you both in a time of need .For detangling there is a couple things you can do .Most important brush her everyday if she has long hair .
Also you can use the baby spray on detangler when brusing .What I do though is I have a small spray bottle I miss in it some conditioner and water .This also helps to go get any dirt out while combing .Just a little conditioner .

Let us know how it goes
