There are various types of wraps; silk, plastic, some use deli wraps. It's dependent on personal preferance as well as coat texture. I'm sure you know the purpose for wrapping...but, here it goes anyway, assist in growing coat and allows the dog the freedom to be a dog. Wrapping jackets are placed over the wraps... it assists in protecting the wraps and of course it inhibits the dog from being able to get those wraps off and possibily ripping it's coat off. It does help having to take those wraps down to check for mats and having to rewrap on a daily basis.
