YORKIES WILL NOT POTTY WHERE THEY SLEEP IF THEY CAN HELP IT. We've had three Yorkies (now two) and all have slept with us from the first night!
If you allow your baby to sleep with you, I promise you he/she will wake you up to go potty (ear kisses) - we take ours outside. Mini had only one accident (pee) at the foot of the bed on the first night ~ she was very embarrassed and it never happened again.
You have to remember babies have small bladders and cannot hold all night - so, if they're very young, at first they might wake you every 2-3 hours, then once or twice, very soon they'll adjust to your hours and sleep all night. But give no water after 6:00pm, take the baby to potty at bedtime and you will have the best (four legged) bed partner you've ever had! I've also learned from experience to make the rule, "bed is for sleeping, not playing"
Try it, you won't regret it!
