I am very interested in purchasing a little friend for Charlie. He was a surprise present from my fiance and he was purchased from a breeder that our friends got theirs from. Their baby is very healthy and is about 2 years old now, so my fiance thought that the breeder would be fine to purchase a puppy from.

Charlie is 15 weeks old today and is healthy now, but he was not in such great shape a few days after he came home. Thus, I do not want to buy a second one from the same breeder. Charlie had a terrible cough, "most lungs", mites, and an ear infection. It is all cleared up now.

My question is how do I begin a search for another breeder? I am looking for one that is reputable and caring. I just want to buy a second one that is happy and healthy. We live near the Pittsburgh Airport and are willing to travel a bit to get a second one.

Any advice, suggestions, etc. would be wonderful.
