We also have that clause in our contract; but that, in my opinion, is not a way to fix the problem of pups being placed in homes that are just not appropriate for yorkies. Thorough screening will avoid such problems...I personally feel sick on a daily basis from all of the unnecessary "rehomes" I see.
What do you plan to do when one comes back with two broken legs, or a herniated disc, or biting issues ... the list goes on and on.?? That is, IF the person bothers to contact you. And..sometimes the pup does not survive a drop to the floor. Oh...yes, adults can drop them, but it is more likely to happen that a child will.
My goal is to prevent such problems. If it involves missing one home that would have been a good one, so be it. I love the breed and am horrified at what has happened to it all because of advertisement and the public's fascination with tiny pups they think are toys. So many of them do not even research the breed...they see what they think they want...then, they take it home and see that it is a dog. .. a live one that barks, pees and poops....and not when they want it to.
