I had the biggest scare of my life yesterday. After I came home from work, I got Maddie ready for our afternoon walk. Since it's pretty cold now, I put her sweater on and got her leash on - I thought. We just got out of the house and she took off running. It turns out I put it on the clip that holds her tags on her collar. Maddie decides it is the perfect time to run down the middle of our 4 lane main street which is also part of a state highway. I ran like the dickens and some friends of mine helped stop traffic because Maddie thought this was a fun game. I finally grabbed her and got my composure.

What a horrible feeling - she just wouldn't come to me when I called, she really thought we were playing. I think school is now in order!! Any other suggestions to end the "catch me if you can" game.


PS --Maddie is just fine and got a scolding and a time out.
