While Jackson is "my" first dog who is solely mine... I grew up with dogs and can't ever imagine life without them. We got Daisy, a Golden Retriever for my 4th birthday after much begging and pleading on my part. She was a wonderful family dog and very much part of the family. We added Sadie, a German Shepherd, when I was around 10 years old and we loved her so much, despite her behavioral issues (though no fault of her own). My grandma always had a dog around, my aunt did, my uncle did, dogs have just always been a huge part of my life. As a kid, I was obsessed with them... any dog related movie was my favorite, I had little dog figurine action figures, etc, lol. But Jackson is different than any other dog we've had... he's even more a part of the family. Maybe it's a yorkie thing. |
