So, I bought other foods that were very high quality and she would only pick at them. She eats Purina One Puppy better that any of them. I know the 3rd ingredient is Corn Gluten Meal.
Yesterday I bought Royal Canin Yorkshire 28 (for puppies 10 months and older). Is this a high quality food? If anyone has any suggestions on high quality food, I sure would appreciate it.
To get her to eat I add a teaspoon or so of boiled chicken with a little broth. Am I doing wrong by doing this? She will nibble what is left all during the day. I leave the food. She is such a light eater and that is why I leave it in the floor.
Oh, I almost forgot, I've caught her eating the cat's poop when we are outside!! I have to watch her like a hawk!!!! and also FOR hawks. I've seen hawks and owls in the woods next to us. I worry about that. I never leave her alone. |
Purina is awful. Royal Canine is a much better choice. My Chloe would eat cat poop outside too, the dern neighbors cat used my yard as a litter box. Chloe was on Merrick's dog food, which is very high quality, so I don't know what her deal was with the cat poop. I'm not sure about adding chicken and such to the food as I've never done that, but maybe someone else can help you answer that part of your post. Definitely watch out for Hawks and Owls! I've heard horror stories.
