The vet said it was probably a birth defect. There were two puppies in the litter. The other puppy is doing great - he's HUGE and very very cute! But our little man Murphy has been struggling. The vet said if he can get to a size big enough, they may be able to do surgery to tie sometype of wire around the ribs to pull them closer and maybe put sometype of mesh or something to serve as a muscle between the ribs.
