Poor baby! Been there, done that. The kong toys are good. I like the kind where you can fill them with something liquid and freeze it.
just plain old ice cubes are great too! Gizmo loved those. A treat and a hockey game at the same time! LOL!
I have also frozen chicken broth before.
But the thing that worked the best for us were....frozen wash cloths!
Oh...and put up any antique furniture!
