This is the only way that I would do it. Personality is just so important and you can't judge that from a picture. I would always want to meet the parents to see that they are in good health and find out what kind of temperament they have. It's also nice to see where and how the puppies have been raised. This is a companion that you could have for up to 20 yrs, I think it's important to be sure that it's the right fit for your family and the puppy will be healthy.
