my axel is 4 months and eats 1/4 in am and 1/4 in pm, some people just leave food but I wouldn't do that if he came from a puppy place, because he might gooble it down...good luck with your baby...he will be fine pm me so you can see my pictures of my boy he was 8 weeks when i got him and with the nurturing he got from us he was just fine.
