Pixel is only 4 pounds and I leave at 8 am for work and don't get home until 5:30 - 5:45. I leave him in an ex-pen with a pee pad every day (just in case), but he probably only uses it about once a month or even less. So he can easily hold it 9.5 hours.
He also holds it all night while we sleep (8 hours). Have fun with your puppy if you get it and I think you should
