I was checking out the site Yorkshire Terrier - Yorkie Puppy Growth/Weight Chart - watch us grow and according to their pounds to ounces converter (now i think i did this right, how badly can i screw up a generated conversion??) he would be at 80 ounces which is not even on the charts until 26 weeks!! So it's quite obvious that he's not going to be a six-pounder lol! My Bella is half yorkie and is 7 lbs even. how much bigger than her do you think Rocco will be? I don't mind the extra thickness but i would like to have some idea to prepare myself for a potentially 16-20 lb lil boy who was estimated to be "6 or 7 lbs" by the breeder lol. thanks in advance, and i apologize if there is already a thread out there like this one.. |
Let me recommend that you ignore the charts. Impossible to guestimate a yorkies final size. All is very dependent on the line the puppy comes from and his background. Even then, it's very possible that a pup can be undersized and/or above the standard.........
No reputable breeder will guarantee a pups final size. The only way you can guarantee that you obtain the size that you desire is by purchasing a yorkie that is older.
