Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are wrong!! Email YTNR and ask them how many liver shunt pups they take in each year.
We have only had a couple the past couple of years, but it is not something we do if YTNR can take the pup since they do have a hook up at UT. It also takes a very experienced foster home to deal with liver shunt issues.
Rescues are bombarded with very sick pups that require very expensive vetting!
YOu can look on Guidestar.org and look up the rescues 990s. Take a look at the vet costs!
