Dogs have very different digestive systems than we do. I would stick with the probiotic your vet prescribed or another high quality probiotic formulated for dogs. Animal Essentials is a good one.

Actually while I am changing her probiotic, I will finish up the amount prescribed first. I talked to my vet about putting Zoey on a regiment of probiotic and did not discuss the brand - and he said that he did not have any pet patients that are on this - but he was not opposed.

The fact that I decided to try a human grade product is that it was recommended first of all, second - I worry about ANY potentially non human grade product for my pets 'long term', and my limited research on this supports it as well.

You say that their digestive system is different than ours.... is there a difference in ingredients besides the potential 'grade'? I am learning and am open to others experiences.

Thanks!
