Bleeding from penis Hello
I have a 7 year old male yorkie who was neutered at 6 months. Last night I noticed little drop of blood tinged urine on his pee pad.
He is status post 5 weeks ACL repair and our follow-up appointment was today so I just had him examined at the surgeon/emergency clinic office. They did a culture (results will be back in a day or 2), bladder x-ray and put him on Clavamox. The x-ray did not show any stones, but if he does not improve on the Clavamox, the vet would like to do an ultrasound.
When I spoke to the tech, she stated that when they acquired the urine specimen, it looked normal, with no blood. I brought him home and took him to the basement x-pen that I have set up for him to potty in since his surgery and he urinated and again, the pool of urine seemed clear, but there were some slightly tinged pink drops. When I pick hip up I dabbed his peeper with a Kleenex and got another pink tinge. It seem as though the blood is coming from his peeper. He is acting normally, eating, drinking etc.
Could anybody please give me any insight as to what this may be? I am concerned that the urine culture will come back normal as they did a sterile sample directly from the bladder.
Thank you in advance
