Its a cord that attaches to the flash then to the camera so you can use the flash off the camera

You can hand hold your cam and have the flash set up on the tripod and still hooked to the camera via the cord. Or you can have your cam on the tripod, and hand-hold your flash off to the side, or up or anywhere you want.
If turning off your red-eye reduction doesn't work for Laylas' blinking, this would be a great option, the flash would not be directly in front of her on the camera. Makes some very nice lighting too

The TTL cords are not real expensive, depending on where you buy, Ive seen them go for anywhere from 19 dollars up to 70 dollars
