Did you visit the groomer you found? If you go there and your not comfortable for some reason then don't get him groomed...but chances are...there will be other dogs there and he will be excited to go meet them.
When I used to get my Belle groomed, she was ecstatic to go. To good by's for this fur-baby momma when i dropped her off.
