Yes it's the best of both worlds. My husband and son love the bigger dogs, and I have always wanted a little one. Of course the little guy has grown on them now too.

If you are concerned about the size then you could go with a little bigger Yorkie. It really depends on the personality of the Shar Pei. I knew from the start that Bailey would be a little rough. She was always rough with my daughters cat before they moved out, but again the cat gave the dog what for...lol I had never seen a dog get chased by a cat.

See how things go. When you find that special little one you will know it, and things will fall into place from there.
