Thank you so much everyone.
We're back from the Vet and luckily it's not bad. Apparently what happened is that his internal stitches didn't dissolve like they should have and he started to have a slight reaction. The Vet said that if it does occur, then it usually does around 1.5 - 2 months post-op, and this is right around that time for him. The entire morning before his appointment I had been holding him to keep him from licking and also gently washing the area with cool water every hour or so to keep it clean and help the swelling go down. It did start looking better and she said I did a good job.

She said no medication is needed, but if I feel necessary I can apply Neosporin. I was told it should heal on it's own and within 1-2 weeks at the most. He's wearing an E-collar for now and sound asleep thankfully so I can also catch up on sleep I didn't get last night! Again, thank you so much everyone!!
