I feel sure she got it from my garden since I dont spray for anything. I use only Holistic chemicals in my yard and home. We have never had fleas or ticks. I know my babies loved stomping thru my garden and eating tomatoes. I am more shocked that my others have no symptoms except XUXA has had 2 loose stools with blood but not much and nothing compared to Lola. I will give her a week then she will be tested. The treatment is very expensive. 20 mil just cost me $80 bucks but we will be getting refils at CVS for $60. She will be on Sporanox1.1 mil every day for 6 months. We will have to check her liver funtions in 7 days and then once a month. I also need to have her off the Predisone by this friday. It will make her worse. I feel very strong and will do everything in my power to keep this girl alive and well. Dr Cole diagnosed her on Friday after he saw that her Lymphs and Colon where swollen. The results from his Cytology came back this morning around 8AM and they called me right away. I have already given her a dose of this med. Please keep us in your prayer. |
so glad a firm diagnosis finally and sounds like it is right on from what i read on the link i posted makes sense. It says it can be from bird droppings or bats do you have alot of that near you? I think your other dogs were not affected as they have a better immune system and i think the steroids made it worse lowering the immune system sadly

This is why my immune compromised dd who is on temarilp I am paranoid with as they can catch things much easier than a dog not on steroids or not having a poor immune system. I am so glad for you that they finally figured this out as i really did not think lymphangastasia based on her blood work being normal. I am sure she will be just fine now that they know what it is
After this is all cured i would supplement her with raw organic coconut oil and i would even ask vet about doing this along with drug as it is a natural anti-fungal and why it is used in shampoos, neosporin, etc as it is natural antibacterial and anti-fungal so please check into this and it is 1/4 tsp per 10lbs so you could start her on 1/8 daily and they love it my dd was on it for over a year no issues with blood work etc and she loved it and also did probiotics so i would ask vet about using those two natural supplements along with it as I will say I have been doubling up dd probiotics and only did clindamyacin 2 days and her staph infection is 100% better almost gone on her back which i was surprised and i think because i am using so much probiotic in her it is killing it that much faster.
Here is the coconut oil i use as a nutritionist did a lot of research and suppose to be purest form and comes in glass jar as that is suppose to also indicate the best quality if in glass jar
and here are the probiotics i use dds plus capsules - non-dairy as dogs are usually lactose intolerant
