I've tried many different brands of harnesses and like/dislike them for different reasons. The brands I feel most secure with are Buddy Belt (easy to size, manage, secure, better for long coats and no velcro!) The Choke Free (love the simplicity and look, security is good, don't care for the velcro as their long hair gets caught on it). I have webbing w/ribbon harnesses and although secure and easy to use, they seem stiff even after several uses. Then I've got heavy satin ribbon harnesses from Petsmart and like them for back-up every day harnesses.
Ruby is 3-1/4 pounds and wears a size two in the Buddy Belt, and a size 11 in the Choke Free. Reno is about 4-1/2 pounds and wears a size 13 in the Choke Free and 3 in the Buddy Belt. The ribbon harnesses are sized by girth, Ruby is 10" and Reno is about 12".
