shannonL ... you have already gotten lots of good advice! I just wanted to share a "tip" that our vet told us. Our little babies are very high energy and the sugar level can drop unexpectedly "like a rock". She told us to have a small container of white Karo syrup in Toto's bag at all times in case we got caught without the NutriCal and gave us, in addition to the veterinary formula NutriCal, some of the little "cc" syringes. If we happen to have a sugar drop we just give her about 2cc of the syrup. You can tell by checking her gums and if they are very pale that's one sign that the sugar has dropped. We give her about 2-3cc NutriCal every day because she is such a "picky" eater and we want to be sure she gets all the vitamins & nutrients she needs!
