I was wondering if there were any hurricane Katrina survivors out there. Or any of you that rode out a hurricane with your babies. We live an hour Southwest of New Orleans and were spared the worse of Katrina. But, we did have 80 mph sustained gusts and no power for 3 days. We did evacuate for Katrina. First hurricane we ever left for. By the time Katrina struck, my yorkie Lacey was already gone. But, we did ride out Andrew together here at home. She was just a 7-month old pup then. And we got almost the full brunt with 100 mph sustained winds with higher gusts. And no power for 8 days. Lacey stuck clung to my mom all night. But, did not suffer from any post tramatic stress that I could tell. If any of you experienced a hurricane with your babies, I will be interested in hearing your stories.
