I think celebrating both is a great idea and not at all selfish. Obviously you don't mind sharing the day, but would she? Although most people don't consider 30 to be young, I know some that still act is if they were in their 20s. I guess it would depend on how open she would be to the idea. I think it would be better coming from someone else in the family..."Hey, its Johnna's birthday too, maybe we can combine the celebration" rather than you suggesting it and having it seem like maybe you are crashing her "dinner". It sounds like everyone is close so maybe your DH could arrange it? |
