But the terrier rough coats or wolly/cotton coats tend to stay the black. Here is a photo of my neutered pet - he is black and has a wooly coat. What a mess it is to groom! Mats even when you just groom him, so I keep him clipped down now. He is now 11 1/2 years old and still looks about the same - except a shorter coat. We had him neutered when he was young since we knew his coat and color was not to standard and did not want to breed for this.
I know everyone flips over him too. I couldn't stand the grooming. I just look at it and think about how much work it is. All the conditioners, knots, it stays dry and slow growing. Looking at that photo I see your labor & feel for you. Kudos to you for altering him to spare others of that happening.
