I have been asked this question, and here is the best I can come up with - I don't know what it takes to be able to say 'tear free' but I have used it on my yorkies, yorkie puppies as young as 6 weeks, and my kids (I use the shampoo on my kids, but not the conditioner - the pH is too high for humans). I use it to scrub Yorkie faces. I have never had anyone have a negative reaction. So, it is very gentle and easy to the eyes, but I don't know what the qualifications are to say 'tear free' officially.
