Although we live near the Ga - Tn line in north Georgia, February anywhere in Tennessee can be very cold and snowy or it can be warm enough for shorts and a short sleeve shirt. This year has started out being very cold with snow and sleet and icy roads. While it will be cold enough for a coat, you will probably do best by layering your clothes so that you can adjust for the various weathers. We (all of Tenn) usually get their yearly snows in Feb. and March. The last blizzard we had was in l993 when we had l0 inches here in north Ga. If you are into snow skiing you will be here at a great time of the year. Two of the large rent a car places : Avis and Enterprise are probably both available in the Smokies. Have a safe trip. Relax and enjoy the furbabies while visiting a beautiful part of the state of Tennessee.
