My girlfriend's family always plays a game at their Christmas party that is SO much fun.
First you have everyone bring a gag gift or a "regift" - you know, something that they've received as a gift and don't really want. My friend's family has played the game for so many years, that oft times tacky gifts are given throughout the year in the hope that it will have the honor of being used at the Christmas party that year. And some gifts make annual appearances!
I forget how they chose the first person, but the first person opens a gift. Whoever brought the opened gift is next up. They pick a gift to open, and whoevers gift that was is then next up, and so on.
The kicker is that at any time, a person can choose to open an unwrapped package, or take a gift that they like that someone else has already opened. Then the next turn goes to the person left without a gift.
I think the only rule is that if someone takes your gift, you can't take it right back, it has to be someone different or a new gift. That's not to say that after a couple of rounds they can get their original gift back!!
I know that may sound confusing, but maybe someone else on here could explain it better if they know the game. The wackier the gifts (and the people!) the more fun the game is!!
Good luck with your party! |
