Lucy is feeling better I just wanted to update everyone; Lucy is feeling better this morning.
She was so lethargic and listless last evening; I held her all night long. I was so scared. I'm not used to such a tiny dog. My son joked that her feet never touched the ground all day. Everything went though my mind, liver shunt, MVD, neurologic problems. . . . you name it. I felt like a horrible mother too - that I let her get that sick.
I think the TLC helped because she woke me up this morning licking my face and wanting some cuddling. Last night, she had no interacton at all.
I haven't been to the store so I just gave her some dry kibble - not too much.
She ate and drank and her eyes look much brighter and more alert. She's still just laying in front of the heater - but she's not making the spastic movements or hiding in corners looking confused and miserable.
Boy, have I learned my lesson. She does not have the cast iron stomach that my Westie does. No more pig ears, rawhide, or crappy Alpo on her kibble.
I need to find a new kibble. I've been mixing Ringo's TOTW with the Purina Puppy Chow that her breeder had her on. She really doesn't like the TOTW though and mainly picks out the puppy chow. I'll certainly not do anything right away though.
Everyone was so great to share their knowledge. Wow. Not one of my friends/family even called to ask if she was doing ok. Except my cousin! She loves Lucy and she used to have a yorkie many years ago. She called this morning too.
It's great to have access to all this informaton. |
