One vet told me she had a flea allergy - well....she doesn't have fleas..never has. Another vet told me she was too young for allergies (she's 2)..and another has told me to give her benedryl. The benedryl has relieved her somewhat. She doesn't really bite herself but still scratches quite a bit.
I'm guessing that she has allergies. She is a liver compromised dog so she must stay on her Royal Canin Hepatic diet. Does anyone have any natural remedies or any other ideas to help her find some relief? A google search brings up a product called Skin-Eze but I'm very cautious and wondering if anyone has used this and/or heard of it?
Thanks for your ideas and suggestions in advance!

well we are in the same boat - have a dog with mvd and severe allergies - flea allergy is biting back half but it can also be related to food allergy. Is your dog mvd or did your dog have liver shunt repair as my guess is it is the food

With mvd or liver shunt natural balance vegetarian is an option and may be better. Just a thought - did the itching start after the food change - what happened prior to the itching occured. That vet is wrong allergies occur from 6 mos to 3 years of age. we see a dermatologist and have been dealing with horrible atopic dermatitis for 5 years now ever since dd was 6 mos old
