I have a dehydrator that I've only used a few times. I've made the sweet potatoes in there and green beans (which take a lot less time to dehydrate). We've also made chicken jerky -- we take organic chicken breast, put it through a meat grinder (if you dont have one a cuisinart might work or have your butcher do it) , and then I add chopped up fresh parsely and mint. It was a big hit!

Oh and when the jerky is done, I bake it in the oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes just to make sure all the bacteria is killed. Then, I put it into zip lock vaccum bags and freeze it. It stayed fresh for months!
