Don't know how old our pup is but, it's not recommended to put them on heartworm meds until 5 or 6 months of age.
My vet suggested I get heartworm meds. I asked if they were too young and shouldn't they be tested first? he said that if i start right now they puppies do not need a test because if they have heart worms the worms are not adults yet. He also added that by six months they would had had time to grow in to adults.

I do not know anythign about this subject since i've never had puppies so young before so i just bought home the meds.

Can you please give me insight on why it's not recommended. I'm googling it, but not getting enough info.
