Yes the standard for breeding and show dogs is very specific, but you could possible participate in something like agility, or obedience with your dog. There are no rules as to appearence for these activities, and it is a great opportunity for you and your dog to do some bonding. I am trying to train mine for their AKC canine good citizen tests.
