We used to collect antiques and antique quilts...we had a shop for a couple of years and were addicted to auctions and estate sales. I now have a fairly large collection of antique, American made miniature baskets...like one egg or two egg baskets. I also collect Bears...fully jointed, hand sewn and signed Little Gem Teddies (over 150 of them) and Steiff bears but only the small ones. My husband collects antique padlocks which are hanging on the wall in a custom made display case...they look pretty cool.
As for collecting anything new...purses! I love D&B, COACH, Brighton...etc...and have a closet full of them. Also, Calphalon cookware...the commercial grade stainless steel and their anodized line...I have over 100 pieces. Yah, I know...silly when we go out to eat so much but hey...my kitchen looks good! The big joke here is I dust the stove like the rest of the furniture and I collect cook books and Calphalon! |
