this is a wonderful place. there are some improvements that could be beneficial. in no way does the second sentence nullify the first. the op stated clearly, in the title even, that she knew it was the end. she wasn't seeking anything at all but comfort. the third degree hit immediately. days later the questions in regard to her parenting, her financial situation, her general lifestyle, were still being posted in spite of the fact that it was clear she'd been run out of here. indeed, people were angry she hadn't bothered to get back here and answer their questions. i find that beyond disturbing. many of us would do the same. this is because we are fortunate to live in areas where vets are available 24/7, because we have transportation, because we have not lost employment that would make it financially impossible, because our skin kids are perfectly healthy, because we are perfectly healthy, because we have family to help...the list goes on and on. we live in a world where people are going without vital medications for themselves due to the economy, dying as a result at times. point being, you are blessed with a feeling of security that many do not have. this does not mean they love their yorkies any less. nor does it mean that the pain of losing one hurts any less. an animal lover need not be an animal lover to the exclusion of showing loving kindness to that animal's hurting human parent. the woman i mentioned was shamed here, and those were the feelings her little one likely picked up on at the very end. that was not her fault. that was the fault of the people who treated her wrongly and also, the people like me who followed it from beginning to end but didn't have the guts to speak up. i for one am ashamed of that and will make sure it doesn't happen again. | Okay, now I must ask ... what is the thread you are referring to?
As for your going on about people being wrong about stating facts to educate, I can only say that education often falls on deaf ears; but that does not mean we should not speak up for the tiny little animals who have no voices. Often, when people are defensive, there is a reason for it. They know something is wrong but don't care to be educated OR change their behaviors. |
