The only supplement I give my mommas after delivering is the Doc Roy's Healthy Bones calcium supplement from Revival Animal Health Products. I give 1/2 tablet in the morning and 1/2 before bedtime. Sometimes I will give a bit of nutri-cal but not very often. As long as the momma is eating lots of high quality puppy food they should be fine. I add a little canned Pedigree Healthy Digestion or Chopped Chicken to the dry food. I know many people believe in using the whelping pudding but I have never found it necessary since my mommas are very good eaters and they usual gain weight while nursing. My nursing mommas always have food available and I make sure they eat a nice meal right before bedtime.
