I am taking her to the vet this week but I have never seen a dog not wag its tail at all. She just looks very unhappy, she loves to have her stomach rubbed and the attention but seems very afraid. Even comes to me to be picked up but shys away when you approach. Has anyone experienced this much shyness. I have had dogs all my life but have never seen a little one look so sad and this timid, she crouches down like she is afraid I am going to hit her, which I would never do. She is precious but I am worried maybe she has a different past than I was told, she wont even walk through the doorways. Any advice

HI and Welcome!! I see you are from Windsor, ON. I am also located in Windsor.

I have to say but last year I bought a 1.5 year old female yorkie and she acted exactly the same way as yours is. Speaking with my vet he said she must of been abused, she had signs of having broken ribs in the passed. It took her months to adjust and she was always afraid of men. We bonded very well but it took her a while to come around to other people, I say about 6 months it took her to open up to my family.

Where did you get her from if you don't mind me asking?
