Why do vets recommend Science Diet? I ask b/c my moms shi tzu just went through a major sickness and they only told her to use dry Science Diet and gave her a little to take home then told her to buy it at the pet store or them after. Anyway, I try to tell my mom it is really not that great of food and if they did not feel he needed special food as in an RX than she should try something better. He has been given Pedigree for years. Yeah when we got our dog she thought I was silly for researching dog food. I tried to get her to take the Wellness info to her vet and ask him about it or just try that.
I just find it silly to pay just about the same on Science Diet when she could be giving him something MUCH better.
