Each breeder has a different criteria. I don't know where you are in your journey. But, I suggest that you check YTCA.org breeder referral pages.

But, reputable breeders prefer that you contact them by phone. They prefer establishing the interviewing process on a more personal level. Reputable breeders will interview you just as intensly as you interview them.

Don't expect the breeder to tell you up front that they have puppies available.
