Default Need your thoughts on microchipping litter

Hi, we have a litter (our one and only) of puppies from our male and female. I have been thinking of having them chipped before letting them go to their new homes. I feel I am responsible for the litter and that I owe it to the puppies to take every precaution in their safety. But is it better to let the new owners have it done when the pups are spayed and neutered? Would it hurt the puppies to have it done now, they are 5 weeks old now and would be 10-12 weeks old when I would actually have it done. So many new owners are full of good intentions, but never get around to it. I guess my question is would you as a new owner be open to the chip containing my information and it allready being in place when you pick up the puppy or would you prefer to have it done yourself. Also, can the chip contact information be changed to the new owners. Thank you in advance for your responses. Just want to do the best for the puppies.
