Frustrating...... Ok... We've had Bailey for over 2 weeks now and he's still crying when in the crate... We put him in there at bedtime (mind you, he's been out playing for hours before then) and I tell him "Go to bed" while putting him in there. He won't stop crying for at least 30 min.
In the morning, when I leave for school, I can hear him crying when I'm driving away. And when I put him in there while I'm cleaning, ect during the day (he's only in there for 25 min max at a time) he cries non-stop.
I put an old shirt of mine in there. That didn't seem to help. NONE of my other dogs have taken this long to 'adjust' to a crate. He's not going potty in it, which is a blessing, but the crying is getting old. I know it's because he wants to be out with me, but I can't allow him out of his crate while I'm gone.
Can ANYONE give me some more tips/suggestions? My fiance's patience is wearing thin..... |
