Also look for dog lice. Those are really tiny and will look like tiny grains of sand or dirt. Usually found concentrated around the head area and between the eyes but can be all over the body.They don't really move so you can be fooled into not knowing they are live creatures.
If you find what looks like a little black bit of dirt look at it with a very good magnifying glass to see if it has legs.
Flea shampoo and a spray from the Vet safe for a pup that young should work.
Advantage Multi would be good for followup but I think she is too young, minimum age for that I believe is 12 weeks but I would be reluctant to use it on a yorkie pup that young. |
