not sure but this all started in february after the metacam and metacam is known for damaging the intestinal walls if mixed with steroids so i think her intestines are jacked up and then i stopped the probiotics, soaked her kibble, went basic as it took 30 days of soaked food for her to stop vomitting her food up after the metacam. Then she developed a staph infection in May of 2009 probably due to stopping the probiotics possibly but the whole time intermittent diarhea since february, then in july she had a dental but in february of 2009 her blood work, fecal and urine were PERFECT - so this all spun out of control 3 days after that when she hurt her leg and i went to a different vet for digital xray - I have no clue but due to being on temarilp she is susceptible to bacteria issues so i should have never stopped the coconut oil and probiotics as she was perfect for 2 years but when she was vomitting whole kibble up for a month unless soaked I was baffled. I still think her intestines were damaged as nsaids can perforate a human bowel if given with steroidson empty stomach so i do believe it can damage a 7lb dog as well - even dh who is clueless says ever since that drug she has been a mess so had the intestines been damaged who knows if they are not functioning properly how that can cause bacterial issues etc so if something isn't functioning 100% it can allow other things to spin out of control. All i know is my dog had no diarhea issues for 4 1/2 years NEVER and come 2/09 when she hurt her leg she has been a mess and it is very upsetting and frustrating hopefully antibiotics will help the staph and the intestines and she can get back on track again
