Look, not trying to be insensitive, but if you're researching to bring suit against her Dr, I'm afraid to say it will be in vain. I don't even own a super-tiny Yorkie, yet, I still know the risks of putting a Yorkie of her size under. You will not be able to prove gross negligence (against treating doc) and, most likely there was none. Just a complication that can happen to the most experienced of docs, and you are likely causing yourself more grief. Bad things happen to good (read:innocent) people ( & animals) all the time. This is precisely why Doctors, human and animal alike, make us (or, next of kin) sign release forms - in part to inform, but mostly to cover their own butts. I work in this field, so I am NOT just blindly handing out advice.
Please just try not to cause more grief for yourself. I am so sorry this happened
